Types of Appraisals

Insurance
Whether to insure and to what extent to insure are serious questions; let us assist you with the decision for retail replacement, shipping or contents of unoccupied homes. Through our partner CURATOR Asset Management, we specialize in appraisal reports for insurance coverage, damage and loss claims, charitable or cultural property donation, determination of probate fees or capital gains tax, bankruptcy and divorce or partnership dissolution. All reports are prepared in conformity with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) of the Appraisal Foundation.

This monthly auction serves Toronto’s booming loft / condo community. By offering smaller scale furniture and funky accessories of all kinds we attract a young and stylish clientele.

Online Auctions
Waddington’s provides an innovative online auction service to reach a world wide buying audience. Our Online Auctions are an economical, fast and efficient method of dispersal well suited for:
• High volumes of items
• Themed collections
• Lower value items
• Some themed collections Waddington’s has recently offered online include: Toy soldiers, Doulton figurines, Moorcroft Pottery, Russian works of art and International Prints.

Waddington's™ Brighton
Located in Brighton, Ontario (100k east of Toronto on the 401), our Brighton location services a large and distinctly rural clientele. With two live auctions held each week this is the ideal venue for household goods, country items and collectibles.

The combination of large crowds and offering the items individually or in smaller lots has resulted in decidedly higher prices than in the city for similar items.

Waddington’s Brighton has retained the traditional country auction atmosphere with a great auctioneer and even serves homemade sandwiches, pies and coffee at the lunch counter.

Home Sale
In the right situation, in-situ ‘house’ auctions can be an advantageous and memorable method of clearing a house. Best suited to non-urban locations with enough space to accomodate parking and large crowds, the house auction is particularly effective when offering the estate of a well-known local individual.

In preparation for the event we assess, arrange, secure and list the contents. On the day of the sale, we manage the entire event on your behalf.

Waddington’s handles all the final details for you, including distribution of unsold items, arranging drop-offs of donations to charities or if required, removing them for disposal. We ensure the house is empty, clean and ready for new owners or tenants.
