Bill Kime

Senior Specialist, Ceramics, Glass and Silver

William (Bill) Kime is a Senior Specialist in the Decorative Arts department at Waddington’s and is one of the company’s senior auctioneers. Educated in England, including further studies at Sotheby’s (London) and at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, Bill joined Waddington’s in 1975.

With over 45 years’ experience, a wealth of accumulated knowledge in his field and veteran of three seasons on the CBC’s Canadian Antiques Roadshow, Bill enjoys a respected reputation as one of North America’s foremost experts in 19th and 20th century decorative arts.

Sean Quinn

Senior Specialist, Clocks, Sculpture & Lighting

Sean Quinn is a Senior Specialist in our Decorative Arts & Design department with specific expertise in sculpture, clocks, and lighting as well as some of our most unique auctions, like the Cabinet of Curiosities. Sean has been responsible for our most memorable auctions – including Soviet Space Artifacts and Antique Scientific Instruments, and the Canada 150 Auction. Sean has also appeared on CBC’s Antiques Roadshow, where he lent his expertise to assessing a wide variety of Decorative Arts. He also has a degree in Horology and has apprenticed with a Journeyman of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers.

Donald McLean

Senior Specialist

Donald McLean is the Senior Specialist in the Fine Jewellery and Watch Department. His 40+ years of experience gives him an in-depth knowledge of both domestic and international markets for a wide range of jewellery and horological material. Donald received a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Geology from Carleton University, and earned his F.G.A. with distinction from the Gemmological Association of Great Britain. He is a member of several horological and mineralogical associations, and has appeared as a jewellery and watch specialist on the Canadian Antiques Roadshow.

Austin Yuen

Specialist

Austin Yuen has worked at Waddington’s for over fifteen years and has served as specialist in the Asian Art Department since 2017. He has handled important works from China, Japan, Korea, South and Southeast Asia, and the Islamic world, and specializes in Chinese porcelain, scholar’s objects and furniture, Japanese woodblock prints and netsuke, and Himalayan and South Asian sculpture.

Raised in a family deeply involved in collecting, he developed an early and sustained engagement with collectors, dealers, and artists, shaping a broad familiarity with the Asian art market.

He serves on the executive committee of a Canadian chapter of an international appraisal organization and has completed advanced studies in core appraisal disciplines, including antiques, furniture, and decorative arts.

He holds a Master’s degree in Art History from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science from McMaster University. He is fluent in English and Cantonese, and conversational in Mandarin.

Amelia Zhu

Senior Specialist / Business Development

Amelia Zhu has worked at Waddington’s for over a decade focusing on Chinese works of art. With a background in archaeology, her expertise spans archaic through Ming and Qing dynasty jades, as well as porcelain, paintings, fine furniture, bronzes, snuff bottles, cloisonné enamels, and textiles.

As an internationally credentialed appraiser, Amelia has worked with significant collections for prominent museums and major private estates, advising clients on the valuation, consignment, and acquisition of Asian art. She also brings extensive experience in international client relations, cultivating trusted relationships with a diverse global network.

Active in both the scholarly and collecting communities, Amelia served on the planning committee for the 57th Annual Convention of the International Chinese Snuff Bottle Society (Toronto, 2025). She also contributes to academic and market publications, including the ICSBS Journal.

Amelia holds both a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Toronto, with minors in East Asian Studies and Book & Media Studies. She is fluent in English and Mandarin.
