The Fine Jewellery and Watches department continued to present large auctions filled with a blend of unique and interesting pieces throughout 2025. Our well-attended previews allowed our clients the time to properly inspect potential purchases, ask questions of our experts, and benefit from our staff’s extensive knowledge of the property being offered.
If you are looking for a perfect gift, a new family heirloom or a great addition to your wardrobe, we hope you will join us for another exciting year of auctions in 2026.
The 2025 auction highlights start with our March Estate Jewellery auction, where a single graduated strand of natural pearls sold for $80,050, far exceeding its $8,000 to $12,000 estimate, in an fluctuating market.
One of the most visually memorable pieces of the year was a Paul Flato American 18k yellow gold and wood bracelet from our September Estate Jewellery auction, which sold for $47,110, well over its estimate. Senior specialist Donald McLean explained that the piece is “from a very sought-after American designer, and is a never-before-seen design, something our American bidders jumped at the chance to own.”
Other highlights from that auction included a Lacloche French 18k yellow gold and platinum clip brooch, which sold for $5,000, and a Tiffany & Co. 18k yellow and white gold strap bracelet, which sold for $16,250.
The department’s most interesting auctions are the Silver & Costume Jewellery and Luxury Accessories auctions, which are offered twice a year. These auctions feature an irresistible combination of designer goods ranging from fine silver jewellery to handbags, and are propelled by everyone’s love of name brands.
Hermès, one of the most iconic of these household names, did not disappoint in 2025. In our spring auction, an Hermès ‘Colliers de Chiens’ cashmere and silk scarf sold for over $1,100, and in our fall auction, an Hermès Birkin Toffee 35 Epsom leather handbag fetched an impressive $22,500. Any fashionista can tell you that it’s exceedingly difficult to acquire a Birkin bag. Waitlists can stretch as long as six years, which is why collectors loved the opportunity to acquire this luxury bag at our auction. Read more about Birkin bags on our website. In the same auction, a Charles Loloma Hopi cast silver and gold open cuff sold for $10,240, while a Georg Jensen Danish sterling silver abstract link necklace sold for $2,375.

Price Realised: $20,000
The market for wrist and pocket watches continues to be very strong, with a high level of interest among both domestic and international buyers. In June, our Wrist & Pocket Watches auction featured a Rolex Oyster Perpetual ‘Pepsi’ GMT-Master Wristwatch with date and second time zone, which sold for $17,500, while a very rare Tempor Watch Co. (Schwab-Loeillet) Free Masons stem wind openface pocket watch prompted an exciting bidding war to sell for $10,880.
Our December Wrist & Pocket Watches auction, featured a Men’s Patek Philippe Ellipse wristwatch, which sold for $20,000, and a Men’s Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date ‘Coke’ GMT-Master II wristwatch selling for $15,000.
We look forward to seeing you in 2026.
