A curated selection of the eclectic and playful Estate of Richard LaPrairie. From the quirky to the extraordinary, this extensive collection includes Canadian Outsider Art, works by ‘Junk artist’ Patrick Amiot and sculptor Andrew Benyei, and paintings by Lindee Climo, Brian Burke and Sean Yelland.

Proceeds from Mr. LaPrairie’s estate will be donated to Camp Ooch & Camp Trillium to benefit children living with cancer.

Bronzes by Alfred Laliberté, and Louis-Philippe Hébert and Henri Hébert are not to be missed. The auction also showcases signed letters from two Prime Ministers, Sir John A. Macdonald and Sir Wilfred Laurier, as well as a wide selection of early maps, weapons and flags.

The final Ethnographic auction of 2020 features pieces from across the African continent, with a focus on Western and Central Africa. Highlights include a large Akan terracotta head, a Yoruba shrine figure, a Bamana maternity figure as well as many interesting and unique masks, statues, weaponry and jewellery. Also included are pieces from Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Australia and the Solomon Islands, including an Iatmul orator’s stool, a Biwat or Angoram War Shield and Batak Toba medicine containers.

Several of the lots have been consigned from the Estate of Richard LaPrairie. Proceeds will be donated to Camp Ooch & Camp Trillium to benefit children living with cancer.
