Palmer Jarvis

Senior Specialist

Palmer Jarvis is a Senior Specialist in Inuit, First Nations, and Métis Art at Waddington’s. He has been a consulting specialist in the field of historical First Nations art since 2013. Over his career he has evaluated, researched and cataloged thousands of works of Inuit & First Nations art spanning historical and contemporary genres, and has overseen over sixty successful auctions at Waddington’s.

As a member of associations including the Authentic Tribal Art Dealers Association, and the Confédération Internationale des Négociants en Oeuvres d’Art, Palmer has been active in the dialogue regarding the patrimony of culturally sensitive objects, and has advised clients regarding the appropriate handling and dispersal of such items.

His writing on the subject of Indigenous arts has appeared in numerous speciality publications including Native American Art Magazine, and Sotheby’s & Schweizer Premodern’s Sculpture from the Collection of George Terasaki.

Elizabeth Gagnon

Consignment Specialist

Elizabeth Gagnon started as a specialist in Inuit, First Nations, and Métis Art with Waddington’s in 2021. In her time with the company she has assisted in the evaluation, research and cataloging of thousands of works of Inuit & First Nations art, spanning over 60 auctions.

A confident sight reader of Inuit syllabics signatures, Elizabeth is the main point of contact for Katilvik, Waddington’s free online resource for information on Inuit & First Nations art and artists.

Elizabeth comes from an arts background, with a previous career as a professional ballet dancer. She studied at the Professional Ballet Program at Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto, and subsequently completed the graduate program at the English National Ballet School in London, England.
