How To Buy – Wine & Spirits
How To Buy Wine & Spirits at Waddington’s
Waddington’s under the authority of the LCBO offers both live and online auctions of fine wines and spirits, which augment our seasonal series of fine art and decorative auctions, various unique collector and benefit auctions, and monthly online auctions across all our specialty areas.
We’re pleased to provide our expertise on all aspects of wine collection including managing your cellar, advice on storage and insurance coverage.
Find out about our upcoming auctions and events by signing up for our email notifications and regularly visiting our website. We’ll be hosting seminars, tastings and events throughout our auction season where you’ll have the opportunity to meet our wine specialists, and discover how we can help build, maintain or downsize your collection.
*For our international buyers, please be aware of any limitations or restrictions on the amount or quantity of alcoholic beverages that can be legally brought into your home jurisdiction, as well as any associated permits or licenses.
Waddington’s charges a buyer’s premium on the hammer price. Buyer’s premium and applicable taxes are added to the hammer price. Taxes are exempt for any items that are directly shipped from our premises out of Canada; the buyer is required to pay taxes as per the tax status of that province. Buyer’s premium is applied on a per lot basis.

Once registered for a telephone bid(s) you will be contacted by telephone by a member of our staff just prior to the item being offered. Please note due to volume of telephone bid requests, this service is available on a first come-first served basis.
