Waddington’s under the authority of the LCBO offers auctions of fine wines and spirits, which augment our seasonal series of fine art and decorative auctions, various unique collector and benefit auctions, and regular online auctions across all our specialty areas.

Fees
Waddington’s charges a 20% buyer’s premium on the hammer price. Buyer’s premium and applicable taxes are added to the hammer price. Taxes are exempt for any items that are directly shipped from our premises out of Canada; the buyer is required to pay taxes as per the tax status of that province. Buyer’s premium is applied on a per lot basis.
Registering
You must register before bidding at any of our auctions; it’s quick and easy.
Registration for our online auctions is completed through our website. Once registered, you will be assigned a bidding number for an online auction when you log into your account. You only need to register once to participate in all of our online auctions. Click here to Register.
Bidding
Waddington’s provides a convenient and secure platform for bidding in our online auctions.
Place online bids anytime up to the noted end time for the desired lot. If a bid is received in the final five minutes of the auction, the countdown clock is reset an additional five minutes, until no further bids are received. You can leave absentee bids by entering the maximum amount you would like to bid up to. The software will bid on your behalf up to that amount.
Payment
Payment for purchases must be made within 48 hours of the auction. We accept payment by electronic transfer (fee applies), VISA or Mastercard (up to $25,000), or bank draft. All electronic payments must be made in advance of arrival, no payments are accepted onsite due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Pick Up and Delivery of Purchased Items – UPDATED March 8, 2021
Pick Up
Clients can book pick up appointments for their purchased wine or spirits from Waddington’s, at 100 Broadview Avenue, Suite 200, Toronto. All pick up times are booked through Waddington’s automated Scheduler, and include a 48-hour business day notice period prior to pick-up.
Pick up hours are between 9:10 am and 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Please bring a copy of your paid invoice as proof of payment. As all persons receiving wine must be 19 years of age or older, photo identification may also be requested.
Items purchased and not picked up after 30 days following the auction will incur storage fees at $4.00 per lot per month.
