Each finely decorated in typical Shibayama manner with semi-precious stone and mother-of-pearl inlays on a gold lacquer ground, one side depicting an ornamental flower vessel issuing seasonal blooms, the reverse with a trellis entwined with flowering vines, the neck encircled by a band of cloisonné enamel, the shoulders set with ring handles formed as oni masks, the body raised on three shaped feet cast as further oni heads, signed to the base within a mother-of-pearl cartouche 'Shibayama' 芝山
