SCREAMING EAGLE CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2008 (1) WS 94 WA 95
SCREAMING EAGLE CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2008
NAPA VALLEY.
SCUFFED LABEL
THE ESTATE’S 2008 CABERNET SAUVIGNON BURSTS FROM THE GLASS WITH CONSIDERABLE RICHNESS AND PURE DEPTH. THE SPRING FROSTS LOWERED YIELDS NOTICEABLY RESULTING IN A WINE THAT IS A BIT DARKER AND HEAVIER THAN IS THE NORM. THE REST OF THE VINTAGE WAS ON THE WARMER SIDE, WHICH GAVE THE WINE MUCH OF ITS RIPENESS AND BODY. MOCHA, ESPRESSO, LICORICE AND SWEET SPICES ALL WRAP AROUND THE PALATE. NEXT TO THE OTHER WINES IN THIS TASTING, THE 2008 IS A BIT BURLY. THE MIND-BENDING FINESSE OF THE BEST VINTAGES IS MISSING. ANTICIPATED MATURITY: 2015-2028. DECEMBER 2012 WS 94 WA 95
1 BT. PER LOT $3,500 - $4,000

Fine Wine and Spirits
Since 2016, and under the authority of the LCBO, Waddington’s continues to be the only auction house permitted to consign and sell wine and spirits within the secondary market in Ontario. Waddington’s previously conducted the LCBO’s Vintages Fine Wine and Spirits auctions from 2009 – 2013. The popularity of collecting wine as an investment grows every year. Many wines offered at auction appreciate in value, especially rare and acclaimed vintages, making auctions an excellent way to build a fine wine portfolio. Our auctions also provide an opportunity for collectors to buy wines that aren’t available through other channels and allow restaurants to build world-class wine lists.
