A clipping from “Newsweek” magazine, p. 68 entitled “Black Magic” discusses the admiration of the Haitian school admired by “Western Intellectuals” that blossomed in the 1940’s. The article mentions a current travelling exhibition of Haitian Art in New York City suffused by voodoo and earthly visions of Heaven and Hell that hallmark Haitian art despite being from the “poorest countries in the world”.
