Note:

These portraits may have been painted by Canadian artist Col. John E. Tulloch (1880-1945), active in WWI, who returned to Winnipeg, Manitoba with the rank of Major. In 1909 he married Catherine Gordon of Wentworth, Ontario.

Tulloch was an avid member of several art clubs in Winnipeg including: the Winnipeg Art Club; Winnipeg Sketch Club, Winnipeg Camera Club, Winnipeg Winter Club, Rotary Club, and the Elmhurst Golf Club. This pair of portraits may have been copied by Tulloch from American photographs.
