Note:

Mabel Alvarez, early California painter, was born on the Hawaiian island of Oahu in 1891. She attended William Cahill’s art academy in Los Angeles. In the 1920’s and 30’s, her works were heavily influenced by the Synchrony Movement’s Stanton MacDonald-Wright and Morgan Russell, who taught her for over 20 years.

This impressive, large copy After Theodore Gericault’s, “The Charging Chasseur”, painted by him circa 1812, is much smaller than the original. It was Gericault’s first major painting and his first painting exhibited in the Paris Salon of 1812.
