Celadon Moulded ‘Crab and Net’ Vase, Qianlong Mark and Period (1736-1795)
Well potted with a short neck flaring towards a smooth circular rim, the globular body finely decorated with a pair of confronting crabs, one larger and the other smaller, together with chrysanthemum sprigs contained within a rope net forming a diamond pattern along the bulging waist of the tapering sides, a thick and consistent celadon glaze applied to both the interior and exterior falling slightly short of the hidden foot ring to reveal a biscuit ground.
