Hardstone Embellished Four Panel Screen, Early 20th Century

Each panel divided into two registers, the upper section with inlays such as jade, bone, mother-of-pearl, rose quartz, and lapis lazuli to create scenes of seasonal birds and flowers including 1. a paradise flycatcher and pine for winter 2. a kingfisher and chrysanthemum for autumn 3. a magpie and magnolia for summer 4. a pair of bulbul with peach blossoms and peonies for spring; the bottom register with inlaid white jade carvings to form the ‘100 antique’ motif
each panel 75.2" x 16.9" — 191 x 43 cm.
