The panel showcases the complete group of twelve figures known as the ‘Twelve Beauties of Jinling’ 金陵十二釵. Taken from the classical Qing Dynasty novel ‘The Dream of the Red Chamber’ 紅樓夢, these twelve female protagonists are each depicted with their unique attributes.
