A Silver-Inlaid Bronze Gui-Form Censer, Shisou Mark, Ming/Qing Dynasty, 17th/18th Century
明/清 石叟款 铜嵌银兽面纹簋式炉
Of archaic 'gui' form, the vessel is supported on a high foot, the rounded sides sturdily attached with a pair of loop handles, the waisted neck centered with taotie masks formed by silver inlaid wires, and the underside inlaid with a two-character Shisou mark, all covered in warm brown patina
height 3.6 in — 9.2 cm, diameter 4.6 in — 11.7 cm
