Note:
Walter H. Siegfried was the son of John Siegfried, founder of Siegfried & Co., a tea firm established in 1902 and based in Chicago. After taking over the company in 1915, Walter expanded the company to Japan, where he eventually lived full time.
The present album contains photographs of his home in Japan, along with scenes of his garden, car, and four dogs, giving unique insight into the life of a wealthy American expatriate living in Japan in the 1930s.
