In his funeral in 2015, the Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn commented that Kim 'devoted his whole life to the democratization of Korea. With his philosophy of 'Dae Do Mu Mun (大道無門)', and his firm belief in democracy, he laid the foundation for the nation’s democratic development, along with the people.'
