Standing atop a recumbent ox, the guardian poised in a commanding stance with his left hand raised to hold a weapon and his right hand set firmly at his hip, his powerfully modelled face bearing a fierce expression beneath a phoenix-form helmet, his armour including animal-mask epaulets surmounted by flames, covered overall in green, chestnut and straw glazes
天王立于卧牛之上，姿态威严，左手高举持器，右手稳置于髋部。面部造型雄浑有力，神情凶猛，头戴凤纹盔，铠甲肩饰饰以动物面具并覆以火焰造型。整体施以绿、栗色及稻草灰釉。

Powerfully modeled with imposing presence, "lokapala" tomb guardian figures are distinguished by their dynamic stance, fierce expressions, and finely executed sancai glazes. Drawing on the sculptural tradition of early Tang stone guardians (lishi) found at cave-shrine entrances, these mid-8th century figures embody the evolution of such protectors into elaborately armored military deities, exemplifying the artistic refinement of the period.
