A Suit of Samurai Armour (Yamaichi Tateage Dangae Dou Gusoku), Momoyama to Edo Period (1573-1868)
Heavy iron eight-plate suji kabuto (ridged helmet) to withstand bullets, with copper tehen (small opening to the top), disctinctive hanpo (facial armour) and gilt wood dragon maedate (frontal decoration) with inlaid glass eyes, early to mid Edo period; yamaichi tateage dangae do/dou (breastplate/cuirass) embellished with light-coloured stenciled deerskin leather and fitted with pockets, Momoyama period; together with suneate (shin guards), armour stand and storage box
