The central roundel painted with a courtyard scene of a lady playing the flute, her maid standing behind, and two phoenixes soaring above; within a border of lobed lappets enclosing flowers, and a further band of Buddhist emblems beneath the foliate, Chenghua mark within a double circle to the underside; ‘大明成化年制’双圈底款

one dish rim with 2cm damage surrounded by 10cm area of overspray; the other with a 3.5cm rim hairline at 7 o'clock; both with minor rim chips and frits
