A Suit of Samurai Armour (Tosei Gusoku) and Box with Go-San Kiri Mon All Matching and En-Suite, Momoyama (1573-1615) to Edo Period (1615-1868)
Kabuto (helmet): very high quality, Hineno shikoro (close-fitting plated neck guard), brown lacquer, Momoyama period
Maedate (frontal decoration): sun design, gilded brass, Edo period
Menpo (facial armour): Hanpo style, thick lacquered iron, mid Edo period, circa 1750
Dou (breastplate/cuirass): heavy iron, lacquered black and brown with large gold Go-San Kiri Mon emblazoned on front breastplate, textured gold areas
Kusazuri (fauld/skirt): lacquered leather to reduce weight of armour
Sode (shoulder armour): medium lacquer iron plates, mid Edo period
Kote (sleeves): very good quality lacquered iron plates and chainmail
Haidate (thigh armour): matching all other parts in high quality and manufacture
Suneate (shin guards): Shino style lacquered iron, material and leather backing
Gusoku bitsu (armour box): matching Go-San Kiri Mon (Paulownia crest) of the Matsudaira clan
