Complete Suit of Samurai Armour, Edo Period, 18th/19th Century

Byo Toji Do Gusoku Armour. The helmet consisting of a sixteen-plate bachi fitted with a five-lame shikoro (neck guard) of hinenoform with maedate (crest) in the form of a gold bamboo shoot, the do (chest armour)decorated in black lacquer with black upper plates, at the bottom, three rows of gold lacquered false scales with purple lacing. Box and stand
