A Large White Jade 'Dragon' Plaque, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644)
明 白玉雕龙带板 后嵌制成盒
Carved in deep relief with a sinuous dragon surrounded by peony blooms, a bat, and a bird; later mounted into a rectangular bronze box red-lacquered and etched with a rendition of the same image as the plaque;
box 1.7 x 7 x 2.8 in (4.2 x 17.8 x 7.2 cm)
