Provenance:

Acquired by the present owner from her grandfather James A. Brown, who was a civil engineer in the Royal Canadian Navy. Brown was stationed in Hong Kong in 1929, and traveled extensively throughout China. These watercolours were likely acquired in transit during one of Brown's many back and forth trips between Rangoon (Myanmar), Malaysia, and Australia.
