Of plain form raised on a circular foot, the slightly flared sides rising to a lipped rim, topped with a matching domed cover, the semi-transparent stone is of a pale celadon tone with few splashes of opaque and russet inclusions

Note:

Samuel B. Nitikman (1899-1982) was a collector of Asian artwork, including jade, as well as European modernist paintings and modern sculpture. The Winnipeg Art Gallery arranged a Collector's Exhibition for his pieces in January 1968. His collection was passed down to his nephew, Ernest Sirluck (1918-2013), the former president of the University of Manitoba.
