Note:

Minamoto no Yoshitsune (1159-1189) was general of the Minamoto clan during the 12th century, covering the late Heian and early Kamakura period. Although Yoshitsune died a young man, he is revered as one of the greatest and most popular warriors of the time and is often depicted in both traditional and popular arts.
