Note:

Susan Dobson’s photographs often explore the medium’s technological and material qualities, its history, and its indexical nature. Her lens-based works have been exhibited across Canada and internationally. Most recently, she mounted a public installation and exhibition for the 2019 CONTACT photography festival in Toronto, and had solo exhibitions at Fotonoviembre (Tenerife, Spain), Images Festival (Vevey, Switzerland), and Michael Gibson gallery (London, Ontario). She was long-listed for the 2019 Scotiabank Photography prize.

Dobson’s work can be found in the permanent collections of the National Gallery of Canada, Oakville Galleries, the Toronto Archives, the Swiss Museum of Photography, and many others.

Dobson is Associate Professor at the University of Guelph, and she is represented by Michael Gibson Gallery.
