Note:

The painting in question was one of several that Max Stern acquired from the Fraser Institute in January 1949. It was sold to Mr. and Mrs. C. Goode on May 9, 1953, the present family collection.

The painting is listed in the Dominion Gallery Archives immediately after works by Alfred Walter Williams and Solomon Williams but ultimately this work was identified in the DG stock books as "Unknown." It was listed by the FI as 'Greek landscape with ruins'
