Note:
The current lot is a historical slab of "Pre-Glacial Sitka Spruce" cut from a tree entombed in glacial ice for roughly 300,000 years in Glacier Bay, Alaska which grew after the first recession of the Great North American ice cap. After growing for 157 years, the tree was enveloped by a second glacial advance and remained buried until its exposure during the second ice recession in 1928. It was found by a Canadian Government party examining the recession of the Grand Pacific Glacier at the head of Tarr Inlet.
