Provenance:

Private Collection, Philadelphia
Acquired directly from the artist

Note:

In the early 2000s, Toronto wunderkind Thrush Holmes had a prolific career under the alias of Truman Couture, producing around ten abstract works per day and selling them directly on eBay and other websites. In an interview with the “Globe and Mail” in 2007, Holmes noted that “Truman was my apprentice.” Holmes-as-Couture’s success was such that it enabled him to build what became the eponymous Thrush Holmes Empire, transforming his career from internet entrepreneur to international superstar.

Holmes is known for his use of neon, spray paint, oil, and pastels. His work is energetic and versatile, suiting a range of spaces. His work has been accessioned into numerous celebrity and high-profile collections and has garnered considerable national and international critical acclaim.
