CHARLES FRASER COMFORT, O.S.A., P.R.C.A.
Note:
A label affixed to the reverse of this painting notes: ‘This castle in Glamorgan, Wales…is said to be the second largest castle in England, exceeded only by Windsor Castle…The “leaning tower” at the South East corner is said to owe its inclination to an attempt to blow it up with gunpowder during the Cromwellian Rebellion.’
