A note by Stella Grier attached to the backing of this lot reads, “A corner of my Dad’s studio in the Imperial Bank Chambers, at the corner of Leader Lane and Wellington Street, Toronto. I was his secretary at the time, and seventeen years old (1915). In the Background is a portrait of my grandfather, Dr. Grier (white beard), and two portraits by myself. Stella Grier.”
