The Regina Roughriders adopted their now familiar green and white colour scheme in 1948, the same year the teams name was changed to the Saskatchewan Roughriders as a result of the collapse of the Saskatoon and Moose Jaw franchises. It remains the only state or province-wide sponsored team in the either the NFL or CFL.
