Estate of Lieutenant-Colonel Arthur Trefusis Heneage Williams MP (June 13, 1837 – July 4, 1885), Penryn Place, Port Hope
Note:
Eldest son of John Tucker Williams of Penryn Place, Port Hope, Colonel Williams was the only nationally known figure to die in the Northwest campaign and his body was brought home in state. A grand funeral was held in Port Hope where his statue was erected in front of the Town Hall. Then, like most heroes, he was largely forgotten.
