Note:
HBC point blankets were woven in long, continuous rolls on the factory looms in England. When shipped to trading posts across North America, they were typically left uncut in pairs or larger rolls preserving the edges, making shipping easier, and allowing buyers to choose whether to cut them into separate blankets or keep them as a single extra-long piece for large beds, trapping sleds, or fashioning into capote coats.
