This lot expresses Little's affection for Montreal's snowy winters. With thick and brisk brushstrokes, the painter perfectly renders the busy, slushy, and slippery streets of the city. His subdued colour palette creates an atmosphere where the air is so heavy and the sky so low, that foreground and background appear as if leaning on one another.
