Note:

In a 1965 review of York Wilson, Globe and Mail art critic Kay Kritzweiser wrote: "The wonderful bursting vitality of York Wilson's colour began its real hold on him in Italy - what a love affair he had for the reds of Italy." The “Burano” in the title of this lot refers to the Venetian lagoon island, famous both for its lace-making and brightly painted houses.
