About artist/note:

Tom Smart writes: “Forrestall’s paintings of the late 1960s certainly show him as the diarist of the everyday, adept at representing texture and minute details - the truth of the subject.”

Along the Fence, 1969 depicts the typical rather than the extraordinary, and epitomizes what one curator (referenced by Mr. Smart) has described as “the introspective expression of a man who delights in vivid reality.”
