Provenance:

Wynick/Tuck Gallery, Toronto (the first)
Birch Libralato, Toronto

Note:

Swedish born Jan Poldaas, who originally studied architecture, has emerged as one of Canada’s most important minimalist painters. Much of Poldaas’ oeuvre is concerned with the formulation of colour and according to Roald Nasgaard in Abstract Painting in Canada (2007), “The distinction of Poldaas’ project was that he was working with colour at a time when colour had little place in Minimalist or Conceptual art.” Poldaas’ work is collected internationally and is included in the permanent collections of the Art Gallery of Ontario and the National Gallery of Canada.
