Note:

A graduate of Havana’s Superior School of Art, Juan Ramon Valdes Gomez (known as Yiki) has completed numerous exhibitions throughout Cuba, and was exhibited at the National Gallery “Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes” in Havana in 1991. Influenced by cubism and modernism, Gomez is a member of the 20th Century “Vanguardia” movement, a collective of artist’s whose style rejected the conventions of Cuba’s national art academy. The artist has worked with paint, sculpture and ceramics to express a pictorial and emotional landscape of young, Cuban life.
