Humberto “El Negro” Hernandez was born and raised in a fishing village in Puerto Esperanza, Cuba. Studying in Havana, at the National School of Art and the Superior Institute of Teaching, Hernandez has exhibited his work Internationally. His paintings are viewed as tumultuous renditions of his childhood recollections, and often focus on life and reality in the small Seaside village.
