Born in Uruguay, Walter Cruz studied art in Argentina at the National Museum of Fine Arts, Buenos Aires. Working in Cuba, Cruz has had numerous exhibits of his work, which range from landscapes to portraits. Cruz is most interested in the cultural aspect of Cuban life, and it is through his refined technique that he is able to offer his viewer the honest and authentic faces of the country, whether they be alone on a street corner, or in a crowd of hundreds.
