By repute:
Royal Collection of Franz Josef I, Emperor of Austria and King of Hungary where it hung in the Royal Palace in Budapest until it was donated with several other works of art to the Red Cross to be auctioned at the beginning of WWI;
Sold to Hungarian Industrialist Kalman Virag;
By descent in the Virag family;
Brought to Canada in 1959 by the grandson of Kalman Virag;
Purchased from the above by the current Private Collection, Ontario.

Exhibited:

Berline Kunst Austellung 1898, No. 17 label to the stretcher inscribed in pencil “Flesch-Brunningen”

Note:

This work won medals in Munich in 1896 and in Paris in 1899.
