one side stained red, each side with similar conventionalized pieces, kings with St. Edward’s crown, queens with plumed orbs, all on robustly spooled stands, and turrets with articulated cannons as rooks

CONDITION DETAILS

Red turrets are a near pair (slight difference in pattern). Red king’s and queens finials glued, minor elements (balls) missing from white bishops miters. One red rook’s flagstaff shortened and is missing a cannon.
