with moulded rim and leaf-capped scroll handles, engraved with a laurel cartouche inscribed: ‘A Token of Esteem / Presented / to / William Edward Rundle / on his / Seventieth Birthday / March 11th 1937 / by a / Few of his Friends’ surrounded by seventy-two facsimile signatures, on a stepped circular foot; with red calf bound illuminated register of the subscribers in a fitted walnut case
