Note:

The technique of arte and lacca povera imitating Oriental and true Venetian lacquer was produced mainly in the Venetian states in the 18th century. Printed sheets of motifs with scenes of landscapes and figures would be cut out, stuck on to a piece of furniture and then painted and varnished.
