[This part copied gives more history: The popularity of "A Gaiety Girl" resulted in over a dozen parodies and imitations being produced in the following years. The plot circles around a stolen comb and romantic obstacles. The actual draw came from the Gaiety Girls themselves: a troupe of vivacious female dancers all dolled up in the latest fashions who traipsed about the stage as often as possible.]
