Note:

William Notman appointed his eldest son, William McFarlane Notman (1857-1913), a partner in his photography studio circa 1882. The name of the studio was then changed to Wm. Notman & Son, as it appears in this rare photograph. The firm retained the name until it ceased operations in 1993.

This photograph was also produced as a glass lantern slide.
