Echoes of Silence is one of the artist’s photographs made after coming to the United States in 1984 to photograph landscapes in all 50 states. After five years and some 50,000 miles of travel, the project culminated in 1000 rolls of film. Highlights of Lik’s trans-American odyssey can be found in his book Spirit of America, the cover of which features this rare photograph.
