DOMAINE PONSOT CLOS DE LA ROCHE CUVÉE VIEILLES VIGNES 1991

Côte de Nuits. Grand Cru
u. 2.5 cm. scraped, soiled & marked label. scraped & wrinkled capsule.

Ponsot's 1991 Clos de la Roche-Vieilles Vignes (55-year old vines that produced 1/2 ton per hectare) is a mind-boggling wine that rivals virtually anything produced in Burgundy over the last several decades. It offers an amazingly sweet bouquet redolent with aromas of crushed black-raspberries, black-cherries, and underlying earthy, truffle-like notes. Awesomely rich, dense, and full-bodied, this spectacular low acid, multidimensional wine has a blockbuster finish. December 1993 WA 97
